The currency of Antigua, the East Caribbean dollar (XCD), and the widely accepted US dollar (USD) are both used throughout the country. Service charges of around 10% are commonly added to restaurant and hotel bills although leaving a small cash tip for exceptional service is always appreciated.

In Antigua the power plugs and sockets are a two flat pin plug (type A). 230V / 60Hz

The official language in Antigua is English although you may also encounter locals speaking Antiguan Creole English, a blend of English and West African influences.
