The best time to visit St Lucia is truly whenever you can! The peak season between December and May has better weather but the months either side still offer good value and specials can be found in the off peak season. As with a lot of places, tipping in St Lucia is not compulsory. In instances of good service a 10% tip is considered standard although discretion is left to each traveller. Some restaurants will add a 10% gratuity or service charge to the bill and can be made both in US Dollars and in the local St Lucia currency of Eastern Caribbean Dollars.

St Lucia plugs and sockets are the same as standard UK three pin plugs (type G). 220V / 50Hz.

The official St Lucia language is English making it an easy island to experience on holidays. Many locals also speak creole, a dialect derived from the French.

Situated on the eastern edge of the Caribbean Sea, the weather in St Lucia is predominantly tropical with a distinct wet and dry season. Average temperatures remain relatively constant throughout the year, with average maximums ranging from 29°C to 31°C. Peak season is centred largely around the monsoon with the dry season between December and May having less than half the rainfall of the other months, though they still have extended periods of sunshine.
